Omnifone looks to partner more manufacturers and networks
Omnifone is looking to partner more manufacturers and operators on unlimited music download services – but there is still no word on when its tie-up with LG will materialise.
Omnifone announced plans today to partner Sony Ericsson and has offered a service with Vodafone since last year - but it will continue to seek new agreements.
Rob Lewis, CEO at Omnifone, told Mobile: ‘Our key goal is to ensure that as many handset vendors, operators and broadband providers can deliver the service. We want to create an open world where consumers can move from one service to another and make it as open as possible.
‘However I want to say clearly that Sony Ericsson has the best audio quality and has the advantage of the iconic Walkman brand.’
Omnifone’s partnership with LG appears to be going less smoothly. An announcement was planned this summer over a possible, but Lewis appeared to hint that compatibility problems have arisen.
Lewis said: ‘Unlimited download services are sophisticated propositions and we want it to be on a wide range of devices when it comes out. We can’t comment on when it will happen (with LG).’
