New Vodafone boss Guy Laurence's career so far

 New Vodafone boss Guy Laurence initially joined the operator in 2000 as Chief Marketing Officer and then became CEO of Vodafone Content Services. In 2002, he took on a role leading the Consumer Function within Group Marketing.

On 1st January 2006, Laurence became CEO of Vodafone Netherlands. One of the key changes he made within the role was moving part of the business to Amsterdam in an attempt to fulfill the long-term growth strategy of the company.

Prior to joining Vodafone, Laurence held various commercial, marketing and leadership roles in several media companies including Chrysalis Records, Carlton Television, Universal/Paramount Cinemas and MGM Studios - where he was in charge of International Distribution and Marketing for 31 countries. One of his roles in the film industry involved launching James Bond movies.

After that he started work for an internet company called Vizzavi, which was later acquired by Vodafone. This marked the start of his career at Vodafone. He was jointly responsible for the introduction of Vodafone Live!
