Sally Cowdry temporarily replaced as O2 marketing director
O2 marketing director Sally Cowdry began her maternity leave today, handing the reins to current postpay and prepay heads Peter Rampling and Alistair Johnston.
Rampling and Johnston will now sit on the O2 UK board and will report to Ronan Dunne, while Cowdry is due to return to her role in Summer 2009.
Rampling will look after the consumer postpay, SME, broadband/new product development and own brand devices teams. Johnston will look after prepay, brand, CRM, products and strategy.
Rampling has had 21 years experience in telecoms marketing in a variety of fixed and mobile roles in both consumer and business, having joined O2 before its launch. Most recently, he had full marketing and business responsibility for Consumer Pay Monthly. Prior to that he had the equivalent role for O2's Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) business.
Meanwhile Johnston joined O2 in June 2007 as head of prepay, and has had full responsibility for O2’s Pay & Go marketing team. He previously held senior roles with both the Virgin Group and Orange.
