3 follows T-Mobile in launching UK market's first wireless routers
T-Mobile and 3 have become the first operators to release wireless routers – devices which effectively turn single mobile broadband dongles into small home networks.
T-Mobile was the first to unveil its version earlier this month, called ‘Mobile broadband Share Dock’, and 3 has also just launched its own offering, ‘D100’.
Both come bundled with mobile broadband deals; The T-Mobile is thrown in free with all mobile broadband contracts, while the 3 version costs £69.99.
The wireless routers transform regular dongles into wireless broadband connections that can be shared by multiple users in the same home or office. Both operators recommend that the devices should have no mores than three users at a time to guarantee the fastest possible connection.
