Nokia announces plans to cut 600 jobs globally
Nokia announced new restructure plans for the company, which will see around 600 employees made redundant. The departments affected will be Nokia Markets and Research, the company revealed.
Nokia Markets division is likely to see 450 jobs axed, 100 of which are in Finland. The company is also closing one of its units in Finland. 130 employees of Nokia’s Research Centres globally will also see their job go.
The job cuts are expected to be implemented from the beginning of next year.
Nokia’s plans to cut costs by reducing its workforce follow similar actions from rival handset manufacturers including Sony Ericsson and Motorola.
