Mark Loughran takes over as Nokia UK head

Nokia UK’s current sales director, Mark Loughran will take over as general manager of the handset manufacturer’s UK operation from the start of next year, as a part of the company’s global restructure.

Until then, the position will be held by current head, Simon Ainslie, who has been in the role since July 2006.

Mark Loughran said: ‘This is a hugely challenging role within Nokia and I am excited to have this opportunity. I would like to thank Simon for his support and congratulate him on his new role in leading such a core part of the Nokia marketing approach moving forward. The UK is a key market for Nokia and I'm thrilled to take on this role at a time when we are continuing to drive Nokia's leadership in the services and device marketplace.’

Simon Ainslie said: ‘I am pleased to be able to pass the reins of this fantastic role on to Mark. He has been an invaluable contributor within the UK management team in driving growth within Nokia's customer base, overall position within the UK mobile marketplace and bringing to market our new products and services. I have enjoyed my time immensely in this role both personally and professionally and would like to thank the Nokia UK team, our suppliers and customers for their support over the last 2 years.’
