T-Mobile 'leadership academy' trains the next generation of store managers
Over 200 members of T-Mobile staff have passed through its ‘leadership academy’ programme in its first year.
The academy was opened by T-Mobile in October last year and offers junior staff the opportunity to be mentored and given one-to-one coaching from managers. ‘Graduates’ are placed into a pool and can then be chosen as store mangers.
Andrew Coull told Mobile: ‘It keeps people engaged with our business and it’s a question of looking after people. Passing through the academy doesn’t guarantee promotion to being a store manager, but it puts you in a pool and gives you a good opportunity.’
T-Mobile area managers are responsible for nominating staff to be sent to the leadership academy.
