Nokia unveils eagerly anticipated N97 device
Nokia has unveiled the Nokia N97, its most feature-rich phone yet.

Unlike its predecessor (the N96) the device has a touch-screen and full QWERTY keyboard. Nokia said it added these features to ensure the device facilitated social networking more easily than previous Nseries handsets.

The N97 supports up to 48GB of storage, including 32GB of on-board memory. It features a five-megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, 16:9 and DVD quality video capture and has support for services like Share on Ovi for immediate sharing over HSDPA and WLAN. The device also includes integrated A-GPS and an electronic compass.

The N97 is expected to begin shipping in the first half of 2009, at an estimated retail price of around £450 before taxes or subsidies.

Jonas Geust, vice president heading Nokia Nseries, said: ‘From the desktop to the laptop and now to your pocket, the Nokia N97 is the most powerful multi-sensory mobile computer in existence.’
