Job losses loom in Motorola restructure
Motorola is conducting a broad restructure of its UK and European operation, with the prospect of a radically pared-down UK sales and marketing team.
Mobile has previously reported that the manufacturer will not have any new phones until the second half of next year at the earliest.
Around 30 staff are understood to be affected by the transformation.
Mobile also reported in November that Motorola’s comeback involved focusing on Carphone Warehouse and O2. Sources within the company and outside had confirmed the strategy at the time.
Motorola is now denying that it has an exclusive strategy. It is believed that the manufacturer will continue to focus on the two companies but is now reviewing whether to go completely exclusively because of the potential fall-out from other partners.
