Ross' property business faces pressure from bankers
The Kandahar business was set up in 2003 and invests in small shopping centres and leisure centres. The Kandahar website currently lists a portfolio of 15 low-grade shopping centres, such as Knutsford and Plymouth.
With second-tier retail property struggling in current market conditions, and the security Ross used against the loans looking more uncertain (Carphone’s share price has been falling sharply this year), the bankers are understood to have applied pressure on Ross.
One city source said: ‘It’s a simple case of a banker concerned of the income of someone they’ve lent money to, and looking at its options to recovering it.’
