Vodafone and Fonehouse deal finalised

The deal, which was revealed by Mobile last week, will see the operator bring its consumer contracts into the retailer’s growing franchise business.


Under the agreement Fonehouse will sell a full range of pre-pay and contract mobile phones, smart phones – including the Vodafone exclusive BlackBerry Storm – and mobile broadband USB modems, in its 17 stores and its 16 franchise partners.

Fonehouse managing director, Clive Bayley, said: ‘This is a great step for Fonehouse as we can now offer two great networks in our expanding store portfolio. Our stores attract a customer who looks for service, quality, value and choice and the agreement with Vodafone augments this. We are particularly enthusiastic about the new opportunities this gives our franchise partners and anyone considering joining our franchise scheme.’


Fonehouse intends to grow its franchises next year by opening up ‘secondary locations’A proportion of these will be branded as Fonehouse and Vodafone stores.
