Carphone trading chief George Dymond exits company

Carphone Warehouse UK trading chief George Dymond is understood to be leaving the business and heading to Australia in the New Year.

Dymond has been lured by former Carphone COO and trading chief John Durkan, and will now take a position in the Australian supermarket, Coles.

His departure has created a bigger role for former group buyer Graham Stapleton, who will become chief commercial officer, covering both the UK and Europe.

Meanwhile, Mark Eastham has been promoted to UK commercial director, and
Ross Yelland will become head mobile buyer for Best Buy Europe.

CEO Andrew Harrison said: ‘I’m extremely sad to lose George but I understand he wants to start a new stage in his life and I wish him all the best. He has made a magnificent contribution to Carphone Warehouse.’
