MWC: Vodafone launches three new handset ranges
Vodafone is to launch three new ranges of own-branded handsets, including a GPS range.

The network will launch its first GPS own-branded handsets, set to hit Vodafone shops this spring on contract. Devices in the GPS range include the Vodafone 835, 735 and 736.

The phones will include; Vodafone Music, Google Maps, MMS, Vodafone Messenger for instant messaging, two-megapixel camera, a second camera for video calls, Bluetooth, FM radio, and a slot for extra memory.

The network will also release a ‘cheap’ 2G range in the summer to include the Vodafone 135 and 235. A separate fashion range named the ‘catwalk collection’ will include the Vodafone 527 and 533.

Patrick Chomet, global director of terminals for Vodafone Group, said: ‘We’re really pleased to be building on the success we have achieved over the last two years, giving millions of customers access to mobile communications, in some cases, for the first time. The Vodafone 135 and the Vodafone 235 in particular offer something new for those people who want to own a mobile for the first time.’
