Ryanair launches in-flight mobile service for passengers
Ryanair, the European low-cost airline, has launched an in-flight mobile service across 20 of its planes.
The move is the first step in an attempt to fit all of its 170 planes with the technology, which will allow passengers to make and receive mobile calls on all Ryanair flights.
Passengers on the 20 enabled planes can make and receive calls at between £1.50 and £3 per minute, with text messages at 40p, and email between £1 and £2.
The tariffs are set by the operators and are subject to each customer’s price plan. The service is initially available to O2 customers, along with 50 other operators across Europe.
