Carphone Warehouse ‘Beer Bust’ under review to include more staff
Carphone Warehouse is reviewing its monthly drinking session to include more staff at a time of redundancies at the company.
The famous Carphone ‘Beer Bust’, which has been running since 1989, allows staff at head office and call centres to stay after hours for free beer. Retail staff are given money for a trip to the pub.
Carphone said the ‘Beer Bust’ was being reviewed in a bid to make more satff involved and give it a wider audience. A spokesman said it will now be 'bigger' and 'more exciting'.
The retailer is currently cutting costs as the economic crisis deepens This year it will scrap the annual pay rise and company ball, and the bonus criteria will be tougher.
