Android adds paid-for applications
Google Android has added paid-for applications to the
T-mobile G1 handset in the UK.
Developers will be able to set prices for customers to
download and use applications from Google Android’s online store, Android
market. Until now, only free applications were available in the UK.
One of the first paid-for applications to go live will
be video game Guitar Hero, World Tour Mobile.
T-Mobile head of internet and entertainment, Richard
Warmsley, said: ‘For a T-Mobile G1 customer, this means more choice, and some
very exciting ideas coming to life from all over the world.’
Vodafone will release the ‘G2’ handset, the HTC Magic
phone, in April.
