Apple plugs gaps in iPhone with next generation operating system 3.0
Apple unveiled the next generation iPhone operating system, 3.0, which adds functions such as Stereo Bluetooth and picture messaging.
The lack of both features were sore points amid the otherwise gushing praise for the iPhone 3G (pictured), but have now been addressed.
Improvements also include voice-assisted navigation, copy and paste functions and a feature called ‘searchlight’, which enables the user to search the entire device.
The upgrade is available free to iPhone owners and for £7 to iPod Touch users.
Separately, Carphone Warehouse staff have been given the chance to win an iPhone, by sending in the best sales pitch.
Carphone staffers entering the competition were asked to video record a 60 second iPhone sales pitch, in a bid to win the first prize of a £45 per month contract.
Four runners-up will win a prepay iPhone.
