Lebara makes a move outside of London
Lebara Mobile is stepping up its landgrab of the ethnic market in recent weeks, reaching resellers in Manchester, Leeds, Birmingham and Newcastle.
Lebara attracted 600,000 customers to its virtual network brand in its first year of trading last year, offering cheap international calls and targeting migrant workers in the UK.
The MVNO is now looking to develop outlets in ethnic areas in the North-West, Midlands, after already developing a distribution network of around 5,000 outlets, primarily small independent stores in areas with a high density of migrant workers.
Meanwhile, Lebara Mobile has launched a new promotion offering free calls and SMS to other Lebara Mobile users from 1 April.
Customers will get the first 15 minutes of every Lebara to Lebara call plus all their texts free during April. Customers can purchase a SIM pack from Tesco, ASDA, Martin McColl and most local shops, or order a free SIM online.
