It follows an earlier report
by Mobiletoday this week outlining the details of 3’s cost cutting in
stores, affecting assistant managers, basic pay and opening times.
Staff were told about the cuts on Monday. Retail staff were told there will now be a

operator will reduce its basic pay for retail staff from 85% of their total pay
packet to 70%, leaving greater pressure to hit targets.
3 will also stop 30 of its 300 stores from opening on Sundays, and will cut the
number of hours that staff work. Many currently started their day at 8am
despite stores not opening until 10am.
A 3 spokesman said: ‘We’re proposing to change our store hours
to focus on the times when our customers want to shop while looking
to improve our performance across retail. This plan is designed to do this
while avoiding redundancies.'
