Phones 4u's Nick Fisher set to take new ‘multi-channel’ sales role
Phones 4u’s current direct chief, Nick Fisher, is replacing former retail managing director John Welsh to take a new highly senior role, with responsibility of all of Phones 4u’s sales points: retail, telesales, web and off-the-page.
Fisher will now be given the title of sales director, and report into Phones 4u’s managing director, Brendan Sweeney.
Sweeney said Fisher’s appointment allowed the retailer to ‘become a better integrated, multi-channel business.’
Fisher’s direct business has been the star performing division in Phones 4u as the Dial-A-Phone business (acquired in February 2008) has been the springboard for huge growth in direct sales while the high street stores have struggled.
Sweeney added: ‘These changes will improve coordination and consistency across all channels and be completed by the end of June. All of these moves are designed to ensure we have the optimal structure in place to win in the current market place whilst at the same time ensuring we have dedicated focus on bringing to life our vision of becoming No.1 destination for the youth market in mobile communication and entertainment solutions.’
