Sony Ericsson has promoted head of region for Western Europe, Anderson Teixeira, as president of Sony Ericsson US and head of region for North America. The appointment will be effective from June 1.
Head of the manufacturer’s global customer operations, Kristian Tear will take on Teixeira’s role in addition to his current responsibilities.
Teixeira joined Sony Ericsson in 2001, at the time of the formation of the joint venture. In his role as president of Sony Ericsson US, he will report to Sony Ericsson president, Dick Komiyama. In his role as head of region for North America, he will be responsible for sales and marketing in the US and Canada and will report to executive vice president and head of global marketing, Anders Runevad.
Tear joined Sony Ericsson in 2005 and was previously at Ericsson, where he held a number of senior management positions. He will now be responsible for strategic account management and relations with global operations across 80 accounts worldwide.
Sony Ericsson president, Dick Komiyama, said: ‘Anderson has successfully led our Western European region through a difficult period and will provide Region North America with excellent leadership and a strong commercial focus. His international expertise, gained from a long and successful career in both Ericsson and Sony Ericsson in a number of markets will ensure that our North American operation strengthens its market position.’
