Marketing chief Henderson leaves Carphone

Carphone marketing director of Geek Squad & Enterprise services, Michelle Henderson, has left the company after eight years. It is not known if she has a job to go to.

Henderson joined Carphone as head of direct marketing and later went on to become group director of direct marketing. She is credited with delivering growth across the UK and Europe for Carphone, TalkTalk and The Phone House.

Last year, Henderson was involved in what was described as the biggest rebrand in Carphone’s history. Carphone’s logo was rebranded and it returned to its ‘simple, impartial advice’ strapline in a bid to relaunch as a mobile and laptop provider. It also dropped its company icon, ‘Mobli’, as it looked to move beyond mobile phones.

In the last year there have been a number of marketing changes at the retailer. Last year, Anna James was appointed as UK marketing director, while last month, head of marketing at Geek Squad, Will Lever, left the company.
