confirmed its new UK managing director, Richard Moat, will join the operator in June – at the same
time as its new chief marketing officer, Srini Gopalan.
revealed last monththat the former Orange
veteran was poised to join T-Mobile and replace Jim Hyde, the operator’s former managing director.
Former Capital One
chief Gopalan will head up the operator’s revenue development through
customer relationship management, loyalty and retention, brand development and
all marketing communications. He will indirectly replace Phil Chapman, who left
T-Mobile in November 2008 after three years as marketing director.
T-Mobile International CEO, Hamid Akhavan, said:
‘Richard has an excellent track-record as an executive with significant
international experience in the field of telecommunications, and we are
delighted that he will be joining us to lead T-MobileUK.
‘With Richard we have found a highly skilled manager
who will build on the successful foundation of T-Mobile in the United Kingdom
and who will further develop the company as a leading-edge, value-adding
operator for the benefit of our customers and the T-Mobile Group.’
T-Mobile is currently considering putting its flailing
arm up for sale, after pressure from shareholders when the operator issued a
profits warning last month.
