Nokia to cut a further 490 jobs globally
Nokia will cut a further 490 jobs globally across production, logistics and manufacturing as part of previously announced cost-cutting.
170 jobs will go from sectors dealing with production management and logistics across the globe. The manufacturer has put in for 320 voluntary redundancies from it manufacturing plant in Salo, Finland.
Nokia has said it will deal with a sinking demand for handsets by cutting annual costs at its key handset unit alone by more than 700 million euros (£615.9m).
Including the job cuts announced on Tuesday, Nokia has cut around 4,000 jobs across the company this year.
