Carphone Warehouse poised for Crystal countdown
Carphone Warehouse staffers are pinning hopes on LG’s upcoming transparent touch-screen device, the ‘Crystal’, to give a boost to footfall.
The retailer has secured the exclusive on the device when it launches in the coming weeks.
The Crystal (pictured) is one of many new handsets due to bombard the
market after a widely recognised lull, which saw a three month period of uninspiring devices.
The device comes on the back of the LG Cookie being recorded as Carphone’s second best-selling device of all time, after the Motorola Pink V3 Razr in 2005.
Carphone has sold 350,000 Cookies in four months across all of its European markets.
LG recently announced that another of its touch-screen handsets, the LG Viewty, has achieved seven million worldwide sales since its launch in November 2007. The phone reached 310,000 sales in the first five weeks of its release in Europe.
