Clearer rules set for dongle speeds and charges

Clearer rules set for dongle speeds and charges

New sales guidelines for mobile broadband will be instigated after complaints that dongle offers are unclear.

Operators will have to be more transparent over data charges, download speeds and coverage.

The guidelines were set by a new self-regulating body composed of UK operators, known as the Mobile Broadband Group (MBG).

The move follows Ofcom feedback that called for transparency, and coincides with the publication of consumer advice from the regulator on choosing a mobile broadband provider.
