O2 and T-Mobile court case over spectrum suspended
Ofcom has suspended a court case between O2 and T-Mobile over the release of the 2.6GHz spectrum band.
That particular spectrum is not due to be auctioned off until 2010.
Ofcom asked for the case to be dropped to see if a solution can be reached between Government advisor Kip Meek and the operators.
The operators had taken the regulator to court after a dispute over when the 2.6GHz spectrum, which is already free, should be auctioned.
Ofcom said the spectrum should be released immediately, while the operators said other bands should be looked at first. T-Mobile later pulled out of one of the allegations.
