Orange to release Android handset
Orange is set to be the third network to take on a Google Android handset when it releases the HTC Hero in July.
The network has the exclusive on the ‘graphite’ colour of the HTC Hero – the third phone released by HTC with Google’s open platform software, Android.
The network said the Hero will be the first in a range of Android handsets, it will release.
The handsetincludes; a five mega-pixel, auto-focus camera and camcorder capability, a gravity sensor, AGPS and 512 MB of memory with space for a 16GB MicroSD card.
Orange’s, director of devices, Francois Mahieu said: ‘We’re really pleased to be launching our first Android handset in conjunction with HTC. The first of several Android devices you can expect from us this year.
