Phones 4u parts with commercial chief George Wright
Phones 4u commercial director George Wright left the business this week. Staff were informed of his departure on Monday (22 June).
Managing director Brendan Sweeney said there were no plans to install a direct replacement, and he will take on more of the commercial responsibilities. Sweeney had recruited Wright from John Lewis, where they had previously been colleagues.
Phones 4u had recently merged its operator and handset buying/trading teams, which will now be led by Scott Hooten and Ben Carter, reporting into Sweeney.
Wright had been part of the senior management at Phones 4u with a shareholding in the business.
A spokeswoman for Phones 4u said: ‘We would like to thank him for his contribution and commitment to the business throughout his time at Phones 4u, and we wish him all the best for the future.’
