O2 launches pay monthly technical support scheme
O2 has launched its own pay monthly technical support service to ‘differentiate’ it in the market.
O2 Tech Support will service its broadband mobile broadband and laptop customers.
It will compete directly with other already available support lines like Carphone’s Geek squad.
The move reflects the operators’ expansion into products other than mobile phones like mobile broadband and laptops.
The service will cost customers an extra £7.50 per month. It will operate a ‘no fix-no fee’ policy.
Jonathan Earle, Head of Pay Monthly, said: ‘We have listened to what our customers have asked for and believe that O2 Tech Support will differentiate us in this market. All our broadband customers will continue to get free advice for everything that relates to their O2 service, such as their router, modem or our network.'
