LG pushes past 10% market share target and aims for further growth
LG has surpassed its market share target of 10%, reaching 10.9% in June.
The manufacturer has enjoyed a steady rise from its 5% share position two years ago, increasing more sharply over the last year thanks to devices such as the Cookie.
LG’s share of the UK market reached 6.7% at the turn of the year, and the Korean manufacturer previously told Mobile that it was aiming for 10% by the end of 2009.
The manufacturer is now eyeing further growth, with the new Chocolate device and more touch-screen handsets planned for the second half of the year. It also launched the ‘Watch Phone’ exclusively with Orange this week.
Meanwhile, the LG Crystal, exclusive to Carphone Warehouse, is understood
to have been delayed by two months and was originally due to be exclusive on Vodafone.
