O2 joins forces with Twitter for free updates
O2 has partnered with Twitter to turn Twitter updates into free text messages for customers. The service will be available from August 1.
From that date, O2 customers will be able to receive replies and direct messages through Twitter for free by turning on the text notifications.
They will be able to use their normal text bundle to send updates to the social networking site, or it will cost the price of a standard text message.
The operator’s customers will be restricted by a fair use policy for Twitter texts to a maximum of 600 messages per month.
