Skype recruits O2 marketing director
Skype has appointed former O2 marketing chief, Russ Shaw, as general manager heading up its EMEA region, as it looks to make Skype more widely available on mobiles.
Before joining the online calling service, Shaw was at O2 as global innovation director, responsible for securing the O2 music venue.
Shaw will take on the role on 1 September and will be expected to make Skype more widely available on mobiles.
Skype has been working closely with 3 and is pushing for more operators to allow the service to be provided on networks and handsets in the future.
