Telmap application services to be embedded on O2 handsets
O2 has announced a partnership with Telemap to make personal navigation and map services available on the majority of GPS-enabled handsets.
The subscription service offers in-car 3D mapping, text-to-speech technology and traffic alerts.
Customers will be able to trial the service for 14 days before they have to start paying and then, the charge will be integrated into phone bills.
O2 marketing director, Peter Rampling said: ‘This is a pioneering agreement between operator and application developer which we believe will set a benchmark for future agreements.’
Telmap CEO, Oren Nissim said: ‘This is a very important agreement for Telmap and we are excited to be starting this relationship with O2.’
