O2 sets financial services as a business priority
O2’s UK chief has made moving into the financial services sector a priority for the business.
Ronan Dunne’s decision comes as consumers become increasingly mistrustful ?of existing brands in the financial sector.
He is keen to push forward the company’s financial services offering, O2 Money, following the launch of two pre-paid cards this month and deals ?with Visa and NatWest.
Dunne told Mobile that the mobile phone and wallet were ‘very natural adjuncts’. He added: ‘I am pushing it because I feel a lot of the brands in that sector have damaged their brands. It’s a relationship with our customers that I believe would be natural.’
O2 Money is launching an advertising campaign to promote its new cards.
