BNS Telecom poised for convergence move

Business specialist BNS Telecom is looking to challenge Daisy Group with a mix of mobile and fixed-line services.

BNS was founded by Barry Moat, the prospective new Newcastle United owner, in 1996. Moat is currently non-executive chairman and has £500,000 worth of shares in the company.

BNS is run by Gary Moat (apparently no relation to Barry), and it acquired a small Birmingham based Vodafone service provider, called 3G, 18 months ago.

It has traditionally been a fixed and IT player but the addition of mobile is seen as its move to offer a converged proposition.
