Carphone first to sell new Dell slim laptop

Carphone Warehouse will be the first channel to sell a new Dell laptop/netbook hybrid, the Inspiron 11z.

The move will be the first time a retailer has sold a new Dell product before it goes online.

Dell claims the laptop offers all the power of a full laptop, but with a mobile, slim design.

It has an 11.6-inch screen and HD display comes as standard. It will initially only be available in Europe, at Carphone Warehouse UK stores for £399 or free with a £35 a month, 24-month T-Mobile contract.

Carphone chief commercial officer, Graham Stepleton, said: ‘We are thrilled to be the first in Europe to offer the thin and light Dell Inspiron 11z.

‘Dell's mobile products provide our customers with the ability to stay connected on the go, and is a great addition to our back-to-school line-up.’

Meanwhile, Dell has also announced that it will expand footprint in EMEA through the Carphone Warehouse Group’s network The Phone House.
