Lycamobile hits target of 1.2 million prepaid customers in first year
Lycamobile, the MVNO operation aimed at the ethnic market, has hit its target of 1.2 million customers within one year of launching.
The MVNO, which operates on the Orange network, has been confident about gaining share in the prepay market.
The company said it believes that it is benefiting from a trend of consumers seeking ‘no commitment’ mobile services.
Lycamobile chairman Subaskaran Allirajah said: ‘In September 2008, we set out to achieve the target of activating over 1.2 million Lycamobile UK customers in our first year. I am absolutely delighted to announce that we have achieved this milestone for the brand.’
