Vodafone launches mobile broadband router
Vodafone is taking on 3
with its own version of the mobile broadband router, Mi-Fi.
The credit card sized
device, called the Mi-Fi 2352 or Vodafone Mobile Broadband Hotspot, will allow
up to five laptops or smartphones to use a single 3G mobile broadband connection.
The device has a 10-metre
range, and download speeds up to 7.2Mbps. It is expected to retail at around
£25 when it launches in the UK.
Its built-in battery
provides up to four hours of wireless browsing on a single charge Users can
also plug the Mi-Fi into a single laptop to use directly as a mobile broadband
The device will launch
first in Germany, Spain, and Romania
priced €29.A UK
launch date has not yet been announced.
3 will launch its Mi-Fi
device before Christmas.
