O2 encounters issues with My O2 iPhone app on launch day
O2 users have already encountered problems with a new application launched today by the network to manage their spending.
The new app, available in Apple’s iTunes store, allows PAYG and contract customers can access secure details of their allowance directly on their iPhone. O2 previously only had a service that could be accessed via SMS and online.
However, the application, which is not available to business customers, experienced some teething problems on its first day as some customers struggled to log in.
O2 said: ‘A small number of customers had problems logging in and we have been looking into it to make sure it is resolved.'
O2 marketing director, Sally Cowdry said of the launch: ‘Our customers want to stay in control of how much they spend whenever they like. The My O2 iPhone app allows them to do this with the minimum of fuss.
‘We wanted to make this information as easy to view as possible. This is all part of our commitment to a great customer experience and we’ll be looking at rolling this out to other phones in the near future.’
