Motorola marketeer relocated to Singapore

Motorola marketing chief Andrew Morley has been relocated to Singapore in an expansion of his role.

In January 2009, the company expanded Morley’s role as VP for marketing for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, to also cover Korea, India, Thailand and Indonesia.

He will now have marketing responsibilities for countries including Malaysia and Singapore added to his remit.

Morley joined Motorola in 2007 to head up marketing for the EMEA region. He joined the manufacturer from Harrods Group, where he was group marketing director.

The US based manufacturer is poised to release its first Android handset, only its second phone in 2009, in a bid to claw back share in the face
of declining sales and a fall in the market.

The Android device will be branded ‘Dext’ in the UK and will initially be sold exclusively on Orange.
