INQMobile is reporting 'strong' weekend sales of INQ's new Mini 3G handset, following its launch on Friday.
A spokesman claimed the phone, which is being sold in 3 mobile high street stores, had sold well with consumers showing marked interest in the handset's doubleTwist music software.
He said: 'First weekend trading was
strong. We had some really decent sales in the big cities and shopping centre
stores. We thought the pricing would be the main sales lead but it's apparently
the doubleTwist music software.'
He added: 'People are really keen to pull music from their Windows Music Player or iTunes
The Mini 3G comes with Facebook, IM, Skype and Twitter functionality along with a 2.2-inch display and 2-megapixel camera.
The handset will be free on £15 per month 'Internet Texter' contracts with free internet, free 3-to-3 calls, free voicemail and 75 minutes talk-time. It is also available on Pay As You Go.
The Mini 3G will be closely followed by the INQ Chat 3G, which has a full QWERTY keyboard and BlackBerry-like form factor, which is out later this year.
INQ marketing director Jeff Taylor said the Mini 3G, 'builds on the success of the INQ1 in delivering deeply integrated social networking functionality at an affordable price.'
