O2 adds Phones 4u to iPhone distribution

O2 has extended distribution of the iPhone by signing an agreement for Phones 4u to sell the device in the independent retailer's 450 stores and online.

Customers will be able to buy both contract and PAYG models of the phone from November.

O2 stores and Carphone Warehouse will continue to sell the device, which will also be available on Orange and Vodafone.

O2 sales director, Stephen Shurrock, said: ‘Being able to distribute the iPhone through our partner Phones 4u helps us develop our strong trading partnership and, of course, reinforces O2’s position as home of the smartphone.’

Phones 4u managing director, Brendan Sweeney, said: ‘We are very pleased to be partnering with O2 to sell the iPhone. The addition of the ever-evolving iPhone will complement Phones 4u's market-leading product range and we’re looking forward to offering our customers access to this handset.’
