Nokia N900 shipments start

Nokia’s has started shipping the N900 to Europe, after delays in October.

The handset is the manufacturer’s attempt at a mobile computer, due to its powerful operating system, Maemo 5.

The phone will go on sale for around 500 Euros. Nokia has been highlighting that the new phone allows multiple applications to run at the same time and a 1GB of memory.

Nokia Nseries Vice President, José-Luis Martinez said: ‘The Nokia N900 has generated a lot of interest since its public launch in August, which has been reflected in the device preorders.

‘What's exciting is the Maemo software, which takes its cues from the desktop computer and offers a full browsing experience like no other handset. We believe the Nokia N900 will be a very compelling device for people who are passionate about technology.’
