Nokia to launch new 'Comes With Music' smartphone
Nokia is to launch a new, cheaper ‘Comes With Music’ smartphone in the New Year.
The move is part of a wider strategy which has seen Nokia slash its smartphone portfolio by half and launch a drive to cut costs whilst increasing margins.
Priced at around £140 before tax, subsidy and the music package, the phone will be launched early in the New Year.
It is the cheapest Nokia smartphone to date, excluding the music package.
The 5235 ‘Comes with Music’ model has a touch screen and a two megapixel camera and runs the Symbian operating system, Nokia said on its web site.
Nokia will be hoping the new phone boosts sales figures for its Comes With Music service which have been disappointing so far, according to figures leaked in October.
