Orange sells 90,000 iPhones in the UK in December
Orange is thought to have sold 90,000 iPhones in the UK during the run-up to Christmas,
Meanwhile, France Telecom's deputy chief executive, Stephane Richard, revealed that 200,000 iPhones had been sold in France, with 20,000 sold on 19 December, in an interview with Europe 1 radio on Monday (11 January).
He said: 'The iPhone is a great machine. We sold a little over 200,000 for the month of December.'
Sources told Mobile this week that Orange had sold around 90,000 iPhones in the UK during December, including customers that upgraded to the device.
Richard also told Europe 1 that French group could change its name to its Orange brand in 2010.
'The group is destined to be called Orange one day.... maybe this year,' Richard said.
