Lebara to create 200 UK jobs after record growth
Lebara will create 200 UK jobs in the coming year, after reporting growth of over 105% for last year.
The ethnic MVNO will create jobs based across the company including in customer services which will continue to be a focus for the company. Roles will also be created in sales and marketing, Lebara COO, Tim Wort (pictured) told Mobile.
The MVNO has reported a significant amount of growth over the last year and says that there are still opportunities in the market for growth and expansion.
Wort said the growth of the company ‘is driven by customer growth’.
He said: ‘We now have more than 2.5 million active customers and what has driven that is the strength of our proposition and the services we are able to offer to a highly price sensitive market.’
As well as a focus on customer service, Lebara has worked on improving other areas in the company such as distribution. During 2009, the company partnered with Tesco, Asda and WH Smith.
Wort said: ‘We have worked on distribution and geographically extending our network outside London to the Midlands and north of England.’
The company currently operates in six countries, but the UK still remains an important market.
Wort said: ‘The UK is a very important market for anyone offering mobile services. It is probably one of the largest market opportunities we have and recognise that.’
