ZTE to enter Android market
Chinese manufacturer ZTE has announced it has joined the Open Handset Alliance and expects to launch its first Android handset in the first quarter of 2010.

ZTE will work with other members of the Alliance, which include Motorola and HTC, to further develop the Android platform.

ZTE general manager of smartphones Mr LinQiang said: 'With the growing trend and popularity of Android smartphones, ZTE is committed to invest in this innovative platform to meet the market demand.

'To accommodate this trend, ZTE has invested heavily in the research and development of Android smartphones during the last year. In the first quarter of this year ZTE will launch smartphones based on the Android platform.'
