O2 plans insurance arm
O2 is thought to be in the process of launching 'O2 insurance' in partnership with underwriter Mondial Assistance.

The operator's insurance arm will offer single trip and annual cover as well as a pay monthly product, 'Flow', which offers consumers the opportunity to increase and decrease the level of cover on a trip by trip basis, according to reports.

Last year, O2 partnered with RBS-owned NatWest to launch the financial services brand, O2 Money. It has rolled out two prepaid Visa cards, Load & Go and Cash Manager, which are available to O2 customers.

It plans to offer further banking products, intended to eventually amalgamate in a contactless payments offering.

An O2 spokeswoman confirmed the operator will add an insurance product but would not comment further on timings or the nature of the product.
