Vodafone is to stock the Sony Ericsson’s flagship handset
– the Android powered Xperia X10 as of April.
The deal, tipped by Mobile earlier this week, comes just weeks after Vodafone pulled out of a similar deal to stock the X2, after software glitches delayed its launch.
Vodafone's commitment to the X10 is crucial to Sony Ericsson. It signals the operator's continuing confidence in the innovative handset manufacturer, after it was dogged late last year with software problems on its new smartphones - the Satio, Aino and the X2.
Meanwhile, as revealed by Mobile, Sony Ericsson’s internet store is
telling consumers it will stock the X10 from 1 March with an exclusive deal for
the first week of March.
However Sony Ericsson’s head office declined to
confirm the launch date, only revealing the launch to be ‘in the first Quarter.’
Vodafone declined to give a firm date on when the X10 will arrive in its stores and pricing details have yet to be released. Consumers are asked to register at Vodafone's online store for further updates.
